The Raven Order
Courage, Integrity, Discipline, Compassion, and Service
Constitution
We, the members of the Raven Order, establish this Constitution to provide a framework for the governance, continuity, and integrity of the Order.
This Constitution exists to support the Founding Charter. It shall never supersede the Charter, and any conflict between the two shall be resolved in favor of the Charter.
The Raven Order exists to serve its mission before any individual, office, chapter, or tradition.
The official name of this organization shall be the Raven Order, hereafter referred to as the Order.
The Order exists to fulfill the mission established within the Founding Charter by cultivating honorable individuals and strengthening communities through character, service, and sovereignty.
The Founding Charter is the highest governing document of the Order. This Constitution establishes how the Order operates. Policies, handbooks, and chapter procedures shall remain subordinate to both.
Membership is open to individuals who have reached the age of legal majority in their country or jurisdiction of residence and who willingly accept the Founding Charter, Constitution, and Code of Honor.
Every member has the right to be treated with dignity and respect, participate in the life of the Order, express ideas respectfully, seek guidance from leadership, appeal disciplinary decisions, and leave the Order voluntarily at any time.
Every member shall uphold the Charter and Constitution, live according to the Code of Honor, protect the reputation of the Order through honorable conduct, respect fellow members, and support the mission of the Order.
Ranks represent responsibility and demonstrated character. They do not establish personal superiority.
A newly welcomed member.
A member actively pursuing Knighthood through study, discipline, service, and mentorship.
Knighthood recognizes a demonstrated pattern of honorable living. Recognition acknowledges character already earned.
Appointment to the Guard is by invitation and acceptance, based on compassion, wisdom, emotional maturity, integrity, and commitment to the mission.
Paladins are appointed from among experienced Knights to oversee governance and administration.
Sentinels are recognized after exceptional and sustained service to preserve the philosophy, traditions, and continuity of the Raven Order.
Leadership exists to serve the mission. No office grants privilege above the Charter. Every leader remains accountable to the Code of Honor.
The Founder serves as the original steward of the Raven Order and the guardian of its vision during its formative years. The Founder may appoint initial leadership, establish policies, recognize Chapters, and protect the mission of the Order.
The Founder remains subject to the Charter, Constitution, and Code of Honor. No individual, including the Founder, stands above the principles of the Raven Order.
If the Founder retires, resigns, or becomes permanently unable to serve, succession shall be determined according to procedures established by the Paladins in consultation with the Black Feather Guard.
The Black Feather Guard stands watch over the moral character, philosophical identity, mission, and foundational principles of the Raven Order. Its responsibility is to preserve the mission, mentor leaders, provide pastoral care, oversee ceremonies, and protect the integrity of the Order.
The Guard does not govern. The Guard advises.
The Guard shall never compel another person's religious, spiritual, or philosophical beliefs.
Paladins oversee the governance and administration of the Raven Order, including implementing the Constitution, coordinating Chapters, maintaining records, approving new initiatives, managing finances and property when applicable, and ensuring organizational accountability.
Paladins exercise only those authorities granted by the Charter and Constitution.
A Chapter may be established when sufficient membership and leadership exist within a geographic region.
A Chapter Charter may be suspended or revoked if it repeatedly violates the principles of the Order. Chapters possess only those authorities delegated by the Raven Order and may not adopt policies contrary to the Charter or Constitution.
The Order may conduct meetings in person or through electronic means. Chapters are encouraged to meet regularly to strengthen fellowship, learning, and service.
No officer shall personally profit from their office within the Raven Order. All funds, donations, and property shall be used solely to advance the mission of the Order. Financial transparency shall be maintained appropriate to the size of the organization.
Discipline exists to restore whenever possible. When restoration is not possible, it exists to protect the community.
Every disciplinary action shall be guided by fairness, compassion, and accountability.
The Charter should be amended only under extraordinary circumstances. This Constitution may be amended when doing so strengthens the mission of the Raven Order.
No amendment may contradict the Founding Charter.
Should the Raven Order ever dissolve, its remaining property and assets shall be distributed in a manner consistent with its mission and applicable law.
The name, history, traditions, and symbols of the Raven Order shall never be sold for private enrichment. Its legacy shall remain one of honor, service, compassion, and sovereignty.
The Raven Order exists not to elevate individuals but to cultivate honorable people.
May every office remain humble. May every Chapter remain faithful. May every Knight remember that titles carry responsibility rather than privilege. May the mission always stand above the individual.
Carpe Diem. In Service and Sovereignty.
